Description

This highway is divided into 2 sections:

  • Section 1: Nuevo Necaxa- Avila Camacho: The 36 kilometer-long section, with four lanes, crosses the Sierra Madre Oriental in an area of great orographic difficulty, which has required the construction of 6 tunnels and 12 viaducts. The six tunnels total a length of 8,000 meters and the twelve bridges have a total length of 2,300 meters. Among the bridges, the San Marcos Viaduct stands out, which crosses the river of the same name, with a length of 850 meters and whose central pier of 225 meters is the second highest in the world.
  • Section 2: Ávila Camacho- Tihuatlán: 48.1 kilometers, 2 lanes, for operation under the user toll system. From km 178 + 500 to 225 + 866, with a crown width of 12 meters. Built in the foothills of the eastern Sierra Madre on a soft mound terrain and for a project speed of 90-110 km / Hr. Additionally, it has 4 junctions on the towns of Ávila Camacho, Mecapalapa, Venustiano Carranza and Tihuatlán

Responsible

The users will benefit from a reduction in travelling time of two hours and thirty minutes, with a route time of three hours, fifteen minutes between Mexico and Tuxpan.
