Description

The hydraulic tunnel of Buitreras, located between the provinces from Málaga and Cádiz, with  approximately 12 kilometers long. It allows the transfer of fresh water between the basins from the Guadiaro and Majaceite rivers.

Responsible

The works guarantee fresh water supply to over one million people.

The main part of the work entailed excavation of a 4.90 meters diameter circular tunnel, made using a double TBM telescopic shield.
