This project aims to improve the environmental and sanitary conditions of the Western Panama. It includes the construction of a wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) in Arraiján Este.
The project is part of the Ministry of Health's plan to improve sanitation in the Burunga and Arraijan Sector, an area that has a low level of sewerage and wastewater treatment.
The facility is future proofed to accommodate the growing population of Burunga which is estimated to be approximately 50,050 inhabitants by 2021. The sanitary sewer will generate a flow of 345.12 litres per second.
