Description

Regarding this section, 7.5 kilometres will be underground, 7 kilometres will be elevated and 1.5 in trenches.

The design for the Panama Metro Line One contemplates the construction of a total of fourteen stations for access, boarding and system development, including the two new ones, seven for the underground section, six for the elevated section and one that is partly underground.

The route, which is going to directly benefit approximately one million people, covers from the area near the Grand National Transport Terminal (Albrook Terminal) to the area adjacent to the Los Andes Shopping Mall.

Responsible

The need in the country to design a modern mass transport system that will significantly reduce the time it takes for a person to travel from one location to another was the driving force behind the State project called: Línea Uno del Metro de Panamá.

It will directly benefit more than one million people.

Highlights

  • The first Metro in Central America.
  • The total line length is 15.8 kilometres and the tunnel has a diameter of 8.43 metres.
  • The new line has a capacity to transport more than 15,000 thousand people per hour.
