Barzán urban development in Al Wajba

This FCC project in Qatar consists of the execution of the second-stage works for the Barzán urban development in Al Wajba, some fifteen kilometres from the capital city.

The urban development works were promoted by the Qatar Government's Private Engineering Office and is located inside an urban development zone near the Doha to Dukhan motorway.

The works consist of demolishing the existing buildings and pavements, remove the old services and execute the required earth movements.

FCC is also responsible for the asphaltic agglomerate works, the replacing of all affected services, lighting systems, high and low-voltage distribution grids and water channelling.

These urban development works also include sixteen electricity substations of five different types between 160 and 400 square metres.

All buildings are of a single floor, with flat roof and lined concrete structure.

FCC is strengthening its presence in the Middle East with this project and has executed several other large projects, such as the Dubai Cricket Stadium and the Borouge Industrial Plant in Abu Dhabi.
