Opening of connections between Nejapa - Apopa - Troncal del Norte and Boulevard Constitución

EAST SECTION 2

Final design and construction of a four lane concrete paved road. Traffic passes along this from the "Paquete III" road: Troncal del Norte – Calle A Tonacaqueteque, 400 metres to the west of the Troncal del Norte where it connects with the Paquete III project. The project incorporated the necessary procedures for the right-of-way acquisition. It also included all of the engineering and construction works required for a special classification road with access restricted to two lanes per direction of traffic, separated by a median strip in the centre, suitable for future expansion to three lanes per direction of traffic, with a length of 4.75 km.

The project was implemented under the "turnkey" mode. The most significant works carried out included: earth movement, lateral drainage, piping, major and minor bridges, subgrade, concrete paving, workshop and “as built” drawings.

PARTICIPANT: FCC Construcción de Centroamérica S.A. (El Salvador Office).

TOTAL AMOUNT: 17.28 million dollars.

WEST SECTION 2

The project consisted of preparing the final design and construction of a hydraulic concrete paved road with four lanes (two per direction of traffic) along which traffic passes from the interchange exit in the outskirts of the Nejapa Power plant. The project continued along a south west route before reaching Cantón and the hamlet of San Roque, where it diverted towards the south east, at which point it changes to a two-lane-section per direction of traffic, with hedging in the middle.

The project incorporated the necessary procedures for the right-of-way acquisition of the two stages. It also included all of the engineering and construction works required for a special classification road with access restricted to two lanes per direction of traffic, separated by a median strip in the centre suitable for future expansion to three lanes per direction of traffic.

Stretching 5.04 km, the project was implemented under the "turnkey" mode.

PARTICIPANT: FCC Construcción de Centroamérica SA (El Salvador Office).

TOTAL AMOUNT: 16.7 million dollars.
